Behavioral health is a fully covered Medi-Cal benefit, including outpatient mental health, substance use disorder treatment, and crisis services. Members do not need to choose between paying rent and getting care.
What members often need is help navigating those benefits — knowing what is covered, finding a provider who speaks their language, scheduling an appointment that does not require taking a full day off work.
That is the work our care managers and behavioral health staff do every day, in coordination with the member's primary care and Medi-Cal managed care plan.
